Google Calendar’s export gives you an ICS file. That’s the right format for moving a calendar into another calendar, but it’s a poor fit for analysis: events are spread across repeated text blocks rather than rows, recurring meetings are stored as rules instead of individual occurrences, and attendee lists need unpicking before a spreadsheet can count anything.
OLI2 expands recurring meetings into the occurrences that actually happened, resolves attendees to names, and hands you rows you can sort, filter and pivot immediately.
Most people export because they want an answer: how much time goes to recurring meetings, which people take up the most of the week, what a month actually costs in person-hours. OLI2 answers those on screen too — the CSV is just the version you can take to a board pack.
Yes. The download is a CSV file, which Excel opens directly — as do Google Sheets,
Numbers and LibreOffice. To be clear: there’s no .xlsx download. CSV is
the format, and it imports with one column per field, so you can save it as a workbook
yourself in a click if you want one.
Yes. The file streams as it’s generated rather than being assembled in memory, so a wide date range downloads without timing out.
The export contains whatever the page you exported from is showing, so filter first and the file follows.
